Our story began in&nbsp;<strong>2002<\/strong>&nbsp;with the founding of&nbsp;<strong>Makobe Children\u2019s Home<\/strong>&nbsp;in Kwale County, with support from&nbsp;<strong>Baraka Foundation<\/strong>. Originally home to girls orphaned by HIV\/AIDS, the home later welcomed boys and also served as a rescue center for girls escaping&nbsp;<strong>FGM and early marriage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2018, KIO has transitioned from institutional care to a&nbsp;<strong>community-based approach<\/strong>, weaning children back to their guardians while continuing to meet their basic needs and investing in their&nbsp;<strong>education, healthcare, and spiritual growth<\/strong>.
