Riverside Prison Ministry Uganda

Riverside prison ministry is a religious organization operating in Uganda, East Africa.

Reaching out to over 17 prisons in the Eastern region of Uganda with activities such us, Gospel evangelism, biblical studies program, ex inmate reentry programs, inmate –family re connections/outreach, ex inmate discipleship program, ex inmate economic empowerment activities.

RPM.U, was started by Jeff William Apelli, an ex-inmate who by God’s grace gave his life to Christ while in prison nine years ago.

The ministry currently runs discipleship programs in four churches run by ex-inmate brethren who gave their lives to Christ while in prison, also the ministry has a farm which serves us our holding base with activities such as fellowships by ex inmate brethren living there, crop farming, and fish farming. Our main objective for the above activities is to mentor ex inmate brethren, have an income generation for both the sustainability of the ministry and the ex-inmates, and also empower with them with life skills.

However, I must state that with all above the ministry activities, we are constrained due to a number of challenges, our farm still requires funding for expansion purposes, our long term goal with the Lords provision is to have a fully established and facilitated discipleship center in the premises.

Our fish ponds are still at virgin level requiring still a lot of input, in terms of funds to re stalk with quality fingerlings, consistent supply of fish feeds and also construction of more ponds,

The farm has a shelter with an extension which is incomplete and suffering dilapidation of the walls due to the roofing which is not yet done, leaving the walls bear, we urgently are need of funding to help complete this so important shelter to help accommodate the increasing number of reformed brethren coming out of prisons and having no where to go due to longer periods spent in prison and broken families.

Our prisons are spread mostly in the rural, most of them far from each other drawing a great challenge of transport more so during long mission outreach programs, because of lack of a ministry van, we have always been left to cover few prisons than we would have loved too and going with few volunteers.

We pray that Lord shall bring to us men, women, churches and organizations to partner with us to advance the Kingdom of God in this part of the world.
